ACRL, IPEDS, and National Surveys

Support, guides and tutorials for PALNI libraries completing the ACRL, IPEDS, and other national surveys.

WMS Reports for Item Holdings

Recommended Methods:

  • PALNI Libraries: Use templates in Report Designer Toolkit, Folder 2.1/Annual Survey Toolkit
    • NEW: PALNI Physical Book Volume Quantities TEMPLATE for ACRL/IPEDS
      • The new templates are designed to filter out formats that are excluded from the survey instructions, and to group included formats by reporting category. Please see notes on the reports, once generated, for guidance about some slight manual modifications.
    • Previous: PALNI Item Quantity Material Format and Subformat
      • If using the previous templates, use Pivot Tables (see "Material Formats and Using Pivot Tables" tab) with template report exports to obtain calculations.
  • Other WMS libraries with Report Designer subscription: Folder 3.0 or 3.1 Community Templates - Cataloging/Collections - ACRL/IPEDS Collection Quantities
  • WMS libraries without Report Designer: use the Standard Branch Item Holdings by Shelving Location report; see the PALNI ACRL/IPEDS Help Guide document

Custom report instructions are below for Report Designer users that prefer not to use templates.
