PALNI Services Supporting Digital Scholarship

PALNI PressSupported by the Publishing Services Admin Team, the PALNI Press openly publishes the scholarly and creative content of PALNI-supported institutions. 

  • Hyku, a next-generation repository platform
  • Omeka, an open source web-publishing platform
  • Open Journal Systems, open source software application for managing and publishing scholarly journals
  • Pressbooks, an open source book authoring and editing platform, based on WordPress

CodeSchool (and other training platforms) Facilitation and Support: Offers staff with an interest in developing their programming skills the advantage of participating in CodeSchool and other training platforms. Courses in many different programming languages are available.

CONTENTdmAll PALNI libraries can showcase their special collections using CONTENTdm software designed to provide access to items in various formats. The PALNI Digital Admin Team is available to provide support for the collection building process and making content available to wider audiences via Indiana Memory, Digital Public Library of America, and WorldCat.

InDiPres Digital Preservation System Support: Supports involvement in Indiana Digital Preservation (InDiPres) by offering a stipend to cover a portion of member fees.

Grant Support: The PALNI Grant Support Task Force can help to Identifiyneeds, review proposals, develop timelines, and address roadblocks.

Library Publishing Coalition Membership: PALNI's consortial membership informs the work of the Publishing Services Admin Team and allows participating librarians to engage with this international community of practice

PALNI Innovation Grant: Encourages libraries to take risks and evaluate innovations to optimize or create new library resources and services that expand the support of teaching and learning.

Suma Space Assessment Tool: PALNI provides space assessment software that tracks behaviors of library users.
